I enjoyed the movie. But then, I didn't go into it with the expectation of having life's mysteries explained to me. It was just a movie.
i loved it!
but then, it went right along with my own personal beliefs concerning mankind's origins, so i'm a little biased.. wondering what a religious person's thoughts would be?.

divorce is not, by nature, something pleasant or 'nice' in general.
that said, i do wonder if there is a trend in the world that transcends the "truth".. i can hardly read anything biographical these days without encountering someone who has gone thru an amicable divorce - at least, amicable in the outcome, anyway.
they may 'still be friends' and simply come to see it as another step in their personal evolution.
So the actual rate would likely be higher if the threshold for the pain was lowered?
Exactly. The majority of JW married couples I've known personally had no business being married in the first place. Their only common denominator was that they were both JWs, and would never have been together in the real world. They were brainwashed into believing this was the only thing necessary to make their marriage strong. Imagine what the divorce rate would be if they split up simply because they realized they didn't have anything else in common with their mate.

I think as a rule JWs tend to get divorced for more extreme reasons. It is a frequent occurrence in 'the world' for married couples to get divorced simply because they fall out of love with each other. It is much easier to remain on good terms when this is the case. With a few exceptions, JWs don't split up for this reason, because they are encouraged to stay together at all costs. As a rule, it takes something far more significant.
she is a very pretty personal trainer and she likes my pics too.

Michael was the most talented Jackson, by far. I would be much more worried if she idolized Tito.

i'm so upset by this right now, all i can think to do is to link what i just wrote on my fb page about it:.
"this kind of hatred has got to be stopped people!
I don't disagree with anything you've written. Don't mistake my post for an endorsement of the hateful rhetoric from those on the far right. I voted against the defense of marriage act when it was put on the ballot in 2008. I consider myself fairly liberal.
I'm just saying, we should proceed with a little caution in this particular case. The only thing we know for sure is that the victims happen to be lesbian. By making their sexuality a focal point, the media is steering people to a conclusion, that up to this point, is completely unsubstantiated. It may well turn that they were targeted because of their sexuality. But let's wait and see. The victims deserve no less than for the truth to be known.
Hello anti-cult. Madison area here. Born-in as well. Left the borg for good about 7 years ago.

There are some sick people, what else can be said.
It is ok then to MURDER someone if they are GLBT?
Are we certain this is a hate crime? I'm certainly not dismissing the possibility, and it's a tragedy regardless of the reason. But from what I've read there is no known motive. We don't know that their sexuality was the reason they were killed, or even played a role. It may have been random, or one of the girls may have been targeted for a different reason altogether.
I'm just saying, lets get all the facts before enflaming people's passions on the issue.
this thread was inspired by the "a question for the ladies..." thread and anybody is welcome to post.. if you are now free and clear of the wts, how have your dress and grooming changed?
i'll start the ball rolling by saying that i made some changes that i really like.
i'm down to two suits and they are only for job interviews and perhaps some solemn occasion.
I shaved my head off, it feels good.
How do you manage without a head?

Other than shaving, there's really no difference. I only shave about once a week now. I like the partial-growth beard look.
how many of you have ever worked on a quick build?
here's a good one.
i am a professional pencil pusher by nature.....but many years ago i decided i would volunteer at quick builds so i could help "build a house for jehovah".
Did you actually use the words 'fun' and 'quick build' in the same sentence?
